OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation recognizing October 6, through October 12, 2024, as Fire Prevention Week.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The City of Garden Grove City Council has adopted proclamations recognizing Fire Prevention Week annually since 2019. Recognizing Fire Prevention Week serves to remind everyone of the serious threat to lives and property that fires cause in communities across the nation.
This year’s theme is a reminder to install and maintain smoke alarms, which serve to significantly reduce devastating risks.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt the attached Proclamation recognizing October 6 through October 12, 2024, as Fire Prevention Week.
