Subject: Authorization of the issuance of a purchase order to Century Industries for the purchase of one (1) new Showmaster Mobile Stage. (Cost: $216,620) (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
To secure City Council authorization to purchase one (1) new Showmaster mobile stage from Century Industries through the California Multiple Award Schedules (CMAS) Contract #4-18- 78-0088B. Participating in this State program will enable the City to streamline the procurement process.
BACKGROUND
The Public Works Department h as one (1) mobile stage that currently meet s the City’s guidelines for replacement. Funding was approved through the FY-2024-25 budget process.
The current vehicle is a 2001 Showmaster mobile stage, Serial# 1XCS323813001730.
DISCUSSION
Experience has shown that the City’s buying power is enhanced through joining with other public agencies to purchase fleet vehicles and equipment. The State of California’s Department of General Services (DGS) Procurement Division awards contracts through the California M ultiple Award Schedules ( CMAS). The City is able to utilize this procurement process to streamline the acquisition of vehicles and equipment. Staff recommends utilizing the CMAS Century Industries Contract #4-18-78-0088B.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The cost of procuring the Showmaster is $216,620. Funding will be provided from the Fleet Management fund. The surplus equipment will be sold at public auction, and proceeds will be recorded in the Fleet Management fund. There is no impact to the General Fund.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Authorize the Finance Director to issue a purchase order in the amount of $216,620 to Century Industries for the purchase of one (1) new Showmaster mobile stage.
