Subject: Authorization of the issuance of a purchase order to Garden Grove Nissan for one (1) new SUV. (Cost $45,939.31)(Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
To secure City Council authorization to purchase one (1) new SUV from Garden Grove Nissan in the amount of $45,939.31.
BACKGROUND
Public Works is responsible for providing safe and reliable vehicles for all City departments.
The Police Department currently has one (1) vehicle that meets the City’s guidelines for replacement. This vehicle is a 2007 Chevy Silverado pick -up with 98,500 miles, VIN#1GCEC19J27Z515487.
DISCUSSION
Specifications were prepared and sent to bidders in the Southern California area. No bids were received for this vehicle. Per Section 5.5 of the Purchasing Manual: If no bids or proposals are received through the formal or informal bidding procedure, the goods or services may be secured by negotiated contract. The City has a local Nissan dealer, Garden Grove Nissan. Staff has completed due diligence and negotiated a contract with the results being:

**This price may also be lower due to rebates, discounts and dealer incentives.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Total cost of the vehicle purchase is $45,939.31. The cost will be paid from the Fleet Management Fund. No additional appropriation is necessary as the replacement is scheduled and included in the adopted budget. There is no impact to the General Fund. The vehicle Item 504/2024
being replaced will be sold at public auction , proceeds will be accounted for in the Fleet Management fund.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Authorize the Finance Director to issue a purchase order in the amount of $45,939.31 to Garden Grove Nissan for the purchase of one (1) new SUV.
