OBJECTIVE

To secure City Council authorization to purchase one (1) new Gem cart utility vehicle from Mars Cars LLC, through the Sourcewell competitive bid program, contract # 122220-PSI-3.

BACKGROUND

Experience has shown that the City’s buying power is enhanced through joining with other public agencies to purchase fleet vehicles and equipment.

DISCUSSION

Staff recommends piggybacking on the results of a recent Sourcewell competitive bid program, Contract #122220 -PSI-3. The results deemed Mars Cars LLC , as the lowest responsive bid.

Mars Cars LLC $22,165.32*

* This price includes all applicable tax and destination charges.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

The total cost for purchasing the Gem cart utility vehicle is $22,165.32, funded through the Fleet Management internal service fund. The surplus equipment will be sold at a public auction, with proceeds directed back to the Fleet Management fund. This purchase has no impact on the General Fund.
