Subject: Acceptance of Project No. S-1330 Roof Replacement at the Chapman Branch Library, as complete. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to accept Project No. S-1330 Roof Replacement at the Chapman Branch Library located at 9182 Chapman Avenue, as complete.
BACKGROUND
On June 25, 2024 the City Council awarded a contract to Southland Roofing Inc., in the amount of $116,000, to complete the scope of work that specified replacing the roof at the Chapman Branch Library.
DISCUSSION
The contractor, Southland Roofing Inc., has completed the roof replacement in accordance with related plans, specifications and other contract documents.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The project was funded through the Building Rehabilitation internal service fund and was completed within budget. Accepting the project as complete will have no additional financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Accept Project No. S-1330 Roof Replacement at the Chapman Branch Library located at 9182 Chapman Ave, as complete;
Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute the Notice of Completion of Public Works Improvement and Work; and
Item 57/2025
Authorize the Finance Director to release the retention payment when appropriate to do so.
