Subject: Authorization for the issuance of a purchase order to Garden Grove Kia for a new Police Department SUV. (Cost: $47,282.38)(Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
To secure City Council authorization to purchase one (1) new Police Department SUV from Garden Grove Kia in the amount of $47,282.38.
BACKGROUND
Public Works is responsible for providing safe and reliable vehicles for all City departments.
The Police Department currently has one (1) vehicle that meets the City's guidelines for replacement and was approved through the FY 24/25 budget process. This vehicle is a 2012 Kia Sedona with 67,250 miles, VIN#KNDMG4C74C6483684.
DISCUSSION
Specifications were prepared and sent to bidders in the Southern California area. The only qualified bid received for this vehicle was from Garden Grove Kia, therefore Garden Grove Kia is the winning bid.
Garden Grove Kia $47,282.38* (Police Department SUV)
*This price includes all tax and destination charges.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The cost for the purchase of the Police Department SUV is $47,282.38. As a scheduled replacement, funding will come from the Fleet Management internal service fund. The vehicle being replaced will be sold at public auction , and proceeds will b e returned to the Fleet Management fund.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Authorize the Finance Director to issue a purchase order in the amount of $47,282.38 to Garden Grove Kia for the purchase of one (1) new Police Department SUV.
