Subject: Adoption of a Proclamation celebrating May 4 - May 10, as National Small Business Week. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation celebrating May 4th – May 10th, 2025 as National Small Business Week in Garden Grove.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Small businesses have been recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) since 1963 and each year celebrates National Small Business Week (NSBW ), which acknowledges the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners.
The City of Garden Grove recognizes the vital contributions of small businesses, which provide essential goods and services, support local jobs, contribute to our sound and flourishing economic base, and foster the unique character and culture of our neighborhoods.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt the Proclamation celebrating May 4 – May 10, 2025 as National Small Business Week in Garden Grove.
