Subject: Adoption of a Proclamation celebrating the month of July as Parks Make Life Better Month. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation celebrating July as Parks Make Life Better Month in Garden Grove.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Parks and recreation play a significant role to enhance the quality of life and provides open space to engage in recreational activities. Investment in parks not only offers economic stability within communities, but is also an investment in the well-being of people by providing access to safe outdoor spaces for children and adults to play and be active. The City is committed to improving our parks, and encourages the community to use and enjoy Garden Grove’s parks, facilities, enrichment programs, free community e vents and recreational opportunities.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact by adopting the proclamation.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt the attached Proclamation celebrating the month of July as Parks Make Life Better Month in Garden Grove.
