Subject: Acceptance of City Project No. CP-1344023 - Traffic Signal Modifications at Various Locations Fiscal Year 2023-24, as complete. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For City Council to accept the above projects as complete and authorize the City Manager to execute the Notice of Completion of Public Improvement and Work.
BACKGROUND
Project No. CP-1344023 consisted of traffic signal modifications at Magnolia Street/Lampson Avenue, Brookhurst Street/Hazard Avenue, Garden Grove Boulevard/Galway Street and Trask Avenue/Newhope Street. The project included installation of new signal equipment, poles, cabinets, conduits, cables and video detection systems. In addition, curb ramps were also constructed to meet ADA requirements.
DISCUSSION
The contractor, Comet Electric, Inc., has completed the improvements in accordance with the plans, specifications, and other contract documents. The project was completed within the project budget and schedule. The retention payment will be released after recordation of the Notice of Completion.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact to accept Project No. CP-1344023 - Traffic Signal Modifications at Various Locations Fiscal Year 2023 -24 as complete. The subject project was part of the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Capital Improvement budget and was funded by traffic mitigation fees.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:

Accept City Project No. CP -1344023, Traffic Signal Modifications at Various Locations Fiscal Year 2023-24, as complete;
Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute the Notice of Completion of Public Improvement and Work; and
Authorize the Finance Director to release the retention payment when appropriate to do so.
