Subject: Acceptance of City Project Nos. CP-1345000 and CP-1346000 - Traffic Signal Modifications at Garden Grove Boulevard/Nelson Street - Century Boulevard and Garden Grove Boulevard/Newland Street, as complete. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For City Council to accept the above projects as complete and authorize the City Manager to execute the Notice of Completion of Public Improvement and Work.
BACKGROUND
The City received State grants from the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) in Fiscal Year 2024-25 to improve the traffic signals at Garden Grove Boulevard/Nelson Street - Century Boulevard (Project No. CP-1345000) and Garden Grove Boulevard/Newland Street (Project No. CP-1346000). Both projects consisted of installation of new signal equipment, poles, cabinets, conduits and cables. As part of the improvements, left-turn phasing was also added at each intersection for both eastbound and westbound traffic along Garden Gr ove Blvd., and handicap ramps were constructed to meet ADA requirements.
DISCUSSION
The contractor, International Line Builders, Inc., has completed the improvements in accordance with the plans, specifications, and other contract documents. Both projects were completed within their project budgets and schedules. The retention payment will be released after recordation of the Notice of Completion.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact to accept Project Nos. CP -1345000 and CP -1346000 - Traffic Signal Modifications at Garden Grove Boulevard/Nelson Street - Century Boulevard and Garden Grove Boulevard/Newland Street, as complete. These projects were funded through HSIP grants and traffic mitigation fees.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Accept Traffic Signal Modifications at Garden Grove Boulevard/Nelson Street - Century Boulevard and Garden Grove Boulevard/Newland Street (City Project Nos. CP-1345000 and CP-1346000), as complete;
Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute the Notice of Completion of Public Improvement and Work; and
Authorize the Finance Director to release the retention payment when appropriate to do so.
