Subject: Adoption of a Proclamation recognizing September 2025 as Hunger Action Month. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation recognizing September as Hunger Action Month.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Hunger Action Month (HAM) is a national effort to raise awareness of the levels of food and nutritional insecurity in our communities and to inspire the public to take action. Every year since 2021, the City Council has adopted a proclamation recognizing Se ptember as Hunger Action Month in an effort to raise awareness on the importance of food banks, food care, and to provide information on additional resources available to the Garden Grove community.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact to adopt the proclamation.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt the 2025 Hunger Action Month Proclamation recognizing September as Hunger Action Month in Garden Grove.
