OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation recognizing September as Service Clubs Month.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
In 2023, the City Council adopted a Proclamation to recognize the month of September as Service Clubs Month. Garden Grove is home to multiple service organizations that benefit the community by providing support and a common purpose to helping others. Th e long established service clubs in Garden Grove include:
The Lions Club
The mission of the Lions Club is to empower volunteers and partners to improve health and wellbeing, strengthen communities, and support those in need through humanitarian service.
Kiwanis
The mission of Kiwanis is to improve the world one child and one community at a time.
The Rotary Club
The mission of the Rotary Club is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace.
Elks Club
The mission of the Elks Club is to inculcate the principles of charity, justice, brotherly love and fidelity.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact to adopt the proclamation.

It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt a Proclamation recognizing the month of September as Service Clubs Month.
