Description Amount
This is a proposal to create a 5' x 6' x 8" bronze sculpture that combines the current Woodbury Park jungle motif with the recreational activities offered in the revitalized park.
A welcoming Garden Grove art piece featuring a skateboarding gorilla, basketball dribbling giraffe and swimming hippo will put smiles on the faces of every arriving visitor.
The attached photos of the Artist's 2D drawing and 3D maquette illustrate the sculpture's impressive blend of sharp detail with playful images.
The front of the sculpture presents the main characters in shallow relief while the pictorialized back of the sculpture offers a timeless reminder of the contributions to the project made by youth in the community.
Facsimiles of signed drawings by local school children will be inscribed on the backside. A competition among local school age youth will be coordinated to select drawings. The children's artistic contributions will be inscribed forever on the sculpture. 150,000.00T
This price includes the Artist's original clay sculpture, the molds for the casting and the fabrication of the finished bronze art piece. The artists's renderings herewith are for illustrative purposes. The sculpture's final detail may incorporate changes requested by the Woodbury Park project management team or alterations needed to accommodate artistic or production necessities. The Artist will provide insurance coverage for this project to the specifications of the City of Garden Grove.
Costs and responsibilities of the project yet to be determined are:
1) Transportation of the finished bronze from the foundry to the site. 2) Construction of the concrete pedestal on which it will be installed 3) Final union of the art piece to the pedestal at the site.
A signed acceptance of this proposal and a check payable to American Fine Arts Foundry in the amount of $30,000.00 must be furnished as soon as possible to lock in the quoted price and protect against increases in the cost of materials.
