Subject: Adoption of Resolution approving the updated employee salary schedule. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
To obtain City Council approval of a resolution to amend the Salary Schedule for the City of Garden Grove, effective retroactively to August 2, 2025, to reflect the updated agreement with the Orange County Employee’s Association, Garden Grove Employees League.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
California Code of Regulations, Title 2, Section 570.5 requires governing bodies of local agencies contracting with CalPERS to approve and adopt a publicly available pay schedule in accordance with public meeting laws.
In order to comply with the statutory and regulatory requirements for publicly available pay schedules, Garden Grove City Council is required to amend the salary schedule to reflect the current pay rate for each job classification. Retroactively effective August 2, 2025, this updated salary schedule is in accordance with the Memoranda of Understanding with the Garden Grove Employees League.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact. Personnel costs have been included in the adopted budget for Fiscal Year 2025-26.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt the attached Resolution that amends the Salary Schedule of the City of Garden Grove, effective retroactively to August 2, 2025.
