Subject: Approval of Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement with Z&K Consultants, Inc. for construction management services for the Woodbury Park Revitalization and Expansion Project. (Cost: $208,608)(Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
To request that the City Council approve Amendment No. 1, for an additional contract amount of $208,608, to the Agreement with Z&K Consultants, Inc. for construction management services, and geotechnical and material testing services for the Woodbury Park Revitalization and Expansion Project.
BACKGROUND
In November 2024, City Council approved the contract with Z&K Consultants, Inc. to provide construction management services for the Woodbury Park Revitalization and Expansion Project. The scope of work involves full -time construction administration, regular and specialty inspection during construction, assistance during pre -construction and project closeout phase, including project documentation.
DISCUSSION
During the preparation of the request for pro posals for construction management services, the construction of Woodbury Park was estimated to be completed in a six -month to eight- month period. The proposal received on behalf Z&K Consultants, for a total amount of $299,844, was to provide construction management services for a six -month period. The agreement with Z&K Consultants was executed and began before the construction bid process in order to have the consultant complete a constructability review and provide support with the construction bid process. When the construction bid for Woodbury Park was released for bids, it was determined that the construction period would be approximately ten months due to longer material lead time.
In addition to the construction management services provided by Z&K Consultants, staff has requested support for geotechnical and material testing that needs to be completed by a third party company. These additional services are included in the attached amendment.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The additional funding amount of $208, 608 is available in Woodbury Park construction budget, utilizing Park Fee Funds. The total cost for construction management services for the Woodbury Park Revitalization Project will be $508,452. No additional appropriations is needed to execute the Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement with Z&K Consultants, Inc.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Approve Amendment No. 1 for an additional contact amount of $208,608, to the Agreement with Z&K Consultants, Inc. for the additional constructio n management services, and geotechnical and material testing services for the Woodbury Park Revitalization and Expansion Project, resulting in a new contract amount of $508,452; and
Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to sign and execute the Amendment on behalf of the City, including making minor modifications as appropriate and necessary.
