Subject: Adoption of a Proclamation in celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year commencing Tuesday, February 17, 2026. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation recognizing February 17, 2026 as Lunar New Year in Garden Grove.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Lunar New Year marks the beginning of the lunar calendar and is celebrated to promote renewal, family, and good fortune. The 2026 Lunar New Year , Year of the Horse, will be observed on Tuesday, February 17 th, providing an opportunity to recognize its cultural significance within our community.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact to adopt the proclamation.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt a Proclamation recognizing February 17, 2026, as Lunar New Year in Garden Grove.
