Subject: Adoption of a Proclamation recognizing the 50th Anniversary of the Garden Grove Housing Authority. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation recognizing the 50th Anniversary of the Garden Grove Housing Authority.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Established in 1975, the Garden Grove Housing Authority has served the community for 50 years by providing affordable housing assistance to low income individuals and families.
Operating under the California Housing Authorities Law, the Housing Authority develops, manages, and administers a variety of affordable housing programs that improve housing stability and quality of life for residents. Over the past years, the Housing Authority has issued more than 2,300 Housing Choice, Emergency, and Mainstream vouchers and has provided multilingual resources to better serve the community.
The 50th Anniversary marks an important milestone and reflects decades of dedicated service by staff and community partners committed to promoting personal, economic, and social mobility for Garden Grove residents.

There is no financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt a Proclamation recognizing the 50th Anniversary of the Garden Grove Housing Authority.
