OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation recognizing April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
National Child Abuse Prevention Month is observed each April to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect and to promote efforts that strengthen families and protect children. First proclaimed in 1983, the observance emphasizes prevention, early intervention, and community responsibility.
Recognizing April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month affirms the community’s commitment to ensuring safe, stable, and nurturing environments for all children.

There is no financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt the Proclamation recognizing April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month in Garden Grove.
