OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to approve overnight travel for one (1) Council member to attend the League of California Cities 2026 City Leaders Summit from April 22-24, 2026 in Sacramento, CA.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The City Leaders Summit provides valuable opportunities for city officials to engage directly with state law makers and advocate for municipal priorities identified by League members.
Councilmembers will have the opportunity to participate in direct advocacy efforts with state legislators on key issues impacting our city and region, gain leadership development through high-quality educational sessions focused on governance, policy, and municipal management, and network and collaborate with city leaders from across California to share best practices and innovative solutions.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The cost for one Council Member to attend the 2026 City Leaders Summit is estimated at $1,950. No additional appropriation is needed as costs are included in the City’s adopted operating budget.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Approve the overnight travel for one (1) Council Member to attend the League of California Cities 2026 City Leaders Summit from April 22 -24, 2026 in Sacramento, CA.
