Subject: Authorization for the issuance of a purchase order to vCloud Tech Inc. for two new Arista Network Switches. (Cost: $66,250)(Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For City Council to authorize the issuance of a purchase order with vCloud Tech Inc. for the purchase of two (2) new Arista Network Switches.
BACKGROUND
The City’s core network switches are past their useful life. Replacing existing switches with modern networking technology and support services will enable improved security and reliability of the City network infrastructure.
DISCUSSION
Invitation For Bid (IFB) No. S-1388 was issued on February 25, 2026 for Arista Network Switches. Fourteen proposals were received and opened on March 27, 2026. All proposals were reviewed and thirteen proposals were found to be responsive. The lowest responsive bid was from vCloud Tech Inc.

Per the bid agreement, the City may, at its sole discretion, elect to exercise an option for additional Arista Network Switches up to one (1) year after delivery and acceptance of the original licenses, provided that the contractor agrees to furnish the units at the original bid price or lower.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The cost of the purchase of two (2) new Arista Network Switches are $66,249.73. Funding is available in the adopted Information Technology internal service fund Fiscal Year 2025-26 operation budget.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
● Authorize the Finance Director to issue a purchase order to vCloud Tech Inc. in the amount not to exceed $66,249.73 to purchase Arista Network Switches.
