OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation recognizing April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Garden Grove.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
April is recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), a time to raise awareness about sexual violence, support survivors, and promote prevention. Sexual assault remains a serious public health safety issue with lasting impacts on individuals and communities.
Recognizing this month allows the City of Garden Grove to reaffirm its commitment to prevention, education, and supporting survivors.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt a Proclamation recognizing April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Garden Grove.
