Subject: Adoption of a Proclamation recognizing April as Autism Awareness Month. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation recognizing April as Autism Awareness Month in Garden Grove.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
April is recognized nationally as Autism Awareness Month, a time to increase understanding and acceptance of individuals with autism and to recognize the experiences of individuals and families affected by autism spectrum disorder. The observance promotes awareness, encourages inclusion, and highlights the importance of early diagnosis, support services, and community resources. The proposed proclamation designates April as Autism Awareness Month in the City of Garden Grove and affirms the City’s commitment to supporting an inclusive and welcoming community for all residents.

There is no financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt the Proclamation recognizing April as Autism Awareness Month in the City of Garden Grove.
