OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation recognizing June 20, 2026 as World Refugee Day in the City of Garden Grove.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
World Refugee Day is observed annually on June 20 to recognize the courage, resilience, and contributions of refugees around the world. The attached proclamation acknowledges the hardships faced by displaced individuals and families while honoring their strength and perseverance.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt a Proclamation recognizing June 20, 2026, as World Refugee Day in the City of Garden Grove.
