Subject: Approval of Amendment No. 6 to the Yunex, LLC agreement for on-call traffic signal and emergency repair services. (Cost: $55,000)(Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For City Council to approve Amendment No. 6, increasing the contract with Yunex LLC, from $169,950 to $224,950 – an increase of $55,000 to cover outstanding invoices for on -call traffic signal and emergency repair services for Fiscal Year 2025-26.
BACKGROUND
The Yunex, LLC, agreement was established in 2021 to provide support to the City’s 2-crew member Traffic Signal Maintenance team in addressing ongoing maintenance and emergency repair needs. During FY 2025-26, the City experienced an increase in streetlight knockdowns and emergency repairs. This has resulted in accelerated depletion of funds to the contract.
DISCUSSION
The subject agreement is concluding its final option year and the new contract amount for on-call traffic maintenance and emergency repair services has been increased to accommodate for the unexpected demands during FY 2026-27. Accordingly, staff requests an increase of $55,000 to the FY2025-26 contract with Yunex to cover all outstanding invoices.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no impact to the General Fund. The increase of $55,000 will be absorbed into the FY2025-26 Public Works Engineering’s operating budget.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:

Approve Amendment No. 6 in the amount of $55,000 to the contract with Yunex, LLC, to cover outstanding Fiscal Year 2025-26 invoices for on-call traffic signal maintenance and emergency repairs; and
Authorize the City Manager , or designee, to execute Amendment No. 6 and make minor modifications as appropriate thereto on behalf of the City.
