Subject: Adoption of a Proclamation recognizing September as Service Clubs Month. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation recognizing September as Service Clubs Month in the City of Garden Grove.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
In 2023, the City Council adopted a Proclamation recognizing September as Service Clubs Month. Garden Grove is home to several longstanding service organizations, including the Lions Club, Kiwanis, Rotary Club, and Elks Club, which contribute to the community through charitable service, volunteerism, and civic engagement. The Masonic Lodge has also demonstrated a longstanding commitment to the Garden Grove community through charitable service, community involvement, and support for local residents.
Recognizing September as Service Clubs Month provides an opportunity to celebrate these organizations and acknowledge their continued contribution s to the Garden Grove community.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact to adopt the proclamation.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt a Proclamation recognizing the month of September as Service Clubs Month.
