Subject: Adoption of a Proclamation recognizing September 2026 as Hunger Action Month. (Action Item)
OBJECTIVE
For the City Council to adopt a Proclamation recognizing September as Hunger Action Month in Garden Grove.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
September is recognized nationally as Hunger Action Month to raise awareness of hunger and food insecurity and to encourage individuals, businesses, and organizations to support hunger relief efforts through volunteering, donations, and advocacy. The proposed proclamation recognizes September 2026 as Hunger Action Month in the City of Garden Grove and affirms the City’s commitment to supporting community partners working to improve access to nutritious food for individuals and families in need.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact by adopting the proclamation.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt the attached Proclamation recognizing the month of September as Hunger Action Month in Garden Grove.
