A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE,
CALIFORNIA, DIRECTING STAFF TO ISSUE A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP)
FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A PLAN TO INCREASE SOLAR PENETRATION AND
DEVELOP ADDITOINAL DISTRIBUTED ENERGY RESOURCES (DER),
CONSISTENT WITH COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 22-125
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE:
WHEREAS, on August 16, 2022, the City Council adopted Resolution 22-125, declaring, among other things, the City’s intent to adopt policies and practices designed to reach a goal of having at least ten percent of Glendale Water & Power (GWP) customers adopt solar and energy storage systems by 2027, and develop additional demand management measures, with a minimum total peak dispatchable and peak- load-reducing capacity of 100 MW; and
WHEREAS, in support of the above goals, City Council directed staff to submit a proposed Request For Proposals (RFP) to engage the services of a consultant, or consultants to develop the plan and to complete the studies and analysis specified in Resolution No. 22-125; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the Report dated November 15, 2022 by the General Manager of GWP relating to the proposed RFP to develop the plan and complete the studies and analysis as specified herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE, CALIFORNIA:
Section 1. That, the City Council determines that the RFP as described in the Report dated November 15, 2022 by the General Manager of GWP is consistent with Council Resolution No. 22-125.
Section 2. That, the City Council hereby directs staff to issue the RFP for development of a Plan to Increase Solar Penetration and Develop Additional Distributed Energy Resources (DER).
