The Special Public Meeting of the Glendale City Council convened in the City Hall Council Chambers, in said City, at 4:00 p.m. on the above date, pursuant to a call for such meeting signed by the City Clerk of the City Council, and on file with the City Clerk, a copy of which is as follows:

A SPECIAL PUBLIC MEETING of the City Council is hereby called to meet at 4:00 PM on Friday, December 16, 2022, in the Council Chamber, 613 E. Broadway, 2nd Floor, Glendale, CA 91206 to consider the following item(s) of business, to wit;

a.Conference with Legal Counsel - Pending Litigation: F.E. & M. Inc. Employee’s Defined Contribution Plan Trust dated July 10, 1984 v. City of Glendale et al., L.A.S.C. Case No. BS16989
b.Conference with Legal Counsel - Pending Litigation: Case name unspecified as disclosure would jeopardize existing settlement negotiations Written Notice of said meeting was given, which Notice consisted of a copy of the foregoing Call, and was served on each Member of the Council not joining in the Call, and upon the in said City not less than 24 hours before the time fixed in said Call for said meeting, as follows:

Motion to resolve the lawsuit entitled Murphy v. City of Glendale, L.A.S.C. Case No. 20STCV296777 in the amount of $1,450,000, in exchange for a full settlement and release of all claims, with the City to be reimbursed by its insurance carrier for all settlement proceeds, fees and costs in excess of its self-insured retention of $500,000.
This settlement is not an admission of any liability whatsoever for any wrongdoing with respect to Plaintiff by Defendant or by any person or department, but is the compromise of a disputed claim.
