California
Equal Pay Pledge
The Current Gender Pay
Gap
● Typically in the US, women are making 84 cents
to every dollar made by their male counterparts
● This wage gap is even bigger for women of color,
and mothers
● This difference in pay also leads to women
making less during retirement, and ultimately
leads to hundreds of thousands wages lost every
year
Commitment
● The City of Glendale will:
○ conduct an annual city-wide
gender pay analysis
○ review hiring and promotion
processes
○ promote best equal pay
practices
● Goals:
○ Reduce unconscious bias
and structural barriers
○ Ensure fundamental
equity for all workers
