As a Glendale citizen and homeowner of a residence less than two blocks from the proposed dwelling at 409 – 413 Irving Avenue, I am writing to adamantly oppose the construction of such a large building on this site. Irving Avenue is already too crowded to find parking on and the traffic is already far too heavy for a street which is home to many children. Bringing additional traffic (both pedestrian and vehicular) will make an already crowded street impossible to navigate. The erection of a 4-story building so close to our home may allow tenants to look into our backyard significantly reducing our safety and privacy. Finally, but no less significant, housing so many new tenants in the area will never reduce crime in the neighborhood. Please don’t turn our charming neighborhood into an over-crowded, crime-laden area where local tax-paying citizens no longer feel safe.

Thank you.

Larry Dale

I have been a resident of Glendale since 2006. I know how crowded our neighborhood is already.

Parking is difficult with the added pressure of street sweeping restrictions, but to add several more residents in this neighborhood would be unsociable. As a Glendale citizen and homeowner of a residence less than two blocks from the proposed dwelling at 409 – 413 Irving Avenue, I am writing to completely oppose the construction of such a large building on this site.

We are willing and able to fight this both socially and legally with the assistance of our neighbors and family legal counsel. This neighborhood is too crowded, the streets are too narrow, there is very limited parking already, and we do not want you bringing down our property values.

David Thomason
