1 ADU Pre-Approved Standard Plans
• Assembly Bill 1332 requires all California cities and municipalities to have a pre-approved ADU plan scheme in place by January 1, 2025. • All agencies involved with reviewing California ADU plans, must approve or deny within 30 days
2 ADU Pre-Approved Standard Plans
• The Standard ADU Plans Program makes standard pre-approved plans available for different ADU types, styles and sizes created by design professionals
• Homeowners select an ADU Plan, work directly with the architect/engineer to purchase, finalize, and submit the plans for City review and permitting.
• Planning and Building & Safety staff review site-specific factors for the specific site, such as setbacks lot coverage, foundation requirements. 3 ADU Pre-Approved Standard Plans
• Pre-approved Standard Plans will remain valid through 12/31/2025 (before the next building code update becomes effective on 1/1/2026) • Pre-approved Standard Plan may not be approved for use in certain situations and/or site conditions.
• Public Works will review the plans for compliance with Public Works requirements, including LID
• GWP will review the plans for Easement Encroachment
