respect to the Report to Council dated March 12, 2024 pertaining to a modification to the nomination and appointment process of boards and commissions, Council hereby directs staff as follows:
That the City Attorney returns to the City Council with a resolution that establishes the board and commission nomination panels to rotate in a manner in which nominating panels will be assigned until every councilmember has had an opportunity to serve on a nominating panel for each board and commission, and thereafter the board and commission nomination and appointment process shall proceed in a manner that does not result in a repetition of a same panel of 2 councilmembers that have already had an opportunity to nominate and appoint an individual to a particular board or commission to make a nomination if that individual is still serving on the board or commission. Further, no councilmember shall serve on more than two panels for the same board or commission.
