Mr. Akop Adamian
1239 N. Everett Street
Glendale, CA 91207
SUBJECT: REVOCATION OF BUILDING PERMITS BCB2207948, BCB2207949, & BE-SFD- 006965-2023
Mr. Akop Adamian:

This is a REVOCATION LETTER FOR BUILDING PERMITS BCB2207948, BCB2207949, & BE- SFD-006965-2023 FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1239 NORTH EVERETT STREET.

On June 15, 2023, the Building and Safety Division issued Permit BCB2207948 for a remodel and addition of 692 square-feet to an existing house and Permit BCB2207949 for a new, 465 square- feet detached, two-car garage. On June 22, 2023, the Building and Safety Division issued Permit BE-SFD-006965-2023 for a temporary power pole.

On October 19, 2023, the Building and Safety Division issued a stop work order for the above referenced address for exceeding the scope of work approved under current building permits.

On November 1, 2023, Building and Safety issued a notice of intent to revoke permits letter for the above-mentioned permits. In the letter, Building and Safety asked you to submit the reasons explaining why the building permits should not be revoked. You provided your response on November 14, 2023 at a meeting with the Community Development Director and Principal Planner.

Following discussion and review of recent events, substantial evidence has not been provided that the demolish of existing walls was accidental. Changes from the original application such as stucco and removal of existing framing, without approval from the City has demonstrated a willingness to execute work without the appropriate approvals. As a result, your submitted information and explanation is not sufficient to keep the permits valid.

Therefore, The City of Glendale Building and Safety Division has revoked Permits BCB2207948, BCB2207949, & BE-SFD-006965-2023. The authority to revoke permits is contained in the California Residential Code Section R105.6 that states:
"Suspension or revocation. The building official is authorized to suspend or revoke a permit issued under the provisions of this code wherever the permit is Issued in error or on the basis of incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information, or in violation of any ordinance or regulation or any of the provisions of this code."
