PROCLAMATION
Whereas, across the nation in times of intense personal crisis and community- wide disasters, the first access point for those seeking all types of emergency assistance and homeland security information is the 9-1-1 center; and Whereas, the Glendale Police Department and Verdugo Fire Communications Centers that receive these calls have emerged as the first and single point of contact for persons seeking immediate emergency assistance and are expected to multi-task under emergency conditions with compassion, accuracy, and professionalism throughout the year; and
Whereas, this week celebrated annually honors the thousands of men and women who respond to emergency calls, dispatch emergency professionals and equipment and render life-saving assistance to citizens, residents, and visitors to the city of Glendale; Now, therefore, I Elen Asatryan, Mayor of the City of Glendale, do hereby proclaim April 14 - 20, 2024 as
National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week
in Glendale and congratulate the dedicated and hardworking members of the Glendale Police Department and Verdugo Fire Communícations Centers for their ongoing outstanding service rendered to the community.
