RE: APN 5636-007-903
Dear Mr. Golanian,
As you are aware the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North American purchased the old Incarnation parish campus at 1015 N Central Avenue and 214 W Fairview Avenue over a year ago.
Since our purchase, we have
begun our improvements to the sanctuary to bring into canonical conformity with the requirement
s of the Armenian Church. Adjacent to our purchased property is a peculiar shaped, 3,720± square feet, city-owned property (APN 5636-007-903) that runs between the sidewalk and our property.
Given the irregular shape of the city-owned property, it really serves no purpose other than its current use as landscaping which is maintained by the church and previously by the former landlord. As such, it would not conform to any building requirements for construction or use of the area for any other purpose. We kindly request the City of Glendale consider options on how we can acquire the property so we can create a campus that serves the needs of our faithful in Glendale. Attached to this letter is the parcel map that has the property in question highlighted for your reference.
I would welcome discussions around the acquisition as expeditiously as possible so we can incorporate the beautification of the area in our plans for our Glendale campus.
I thank you in advance and look forward to further discussing the matter.
Respectfully,
Harout Markarian
Executive Director
