A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE, CALIFORNIA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGEMENT, OR A DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AN
AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT FOR BUSINESS AND MULTI-FAMILY SOLID
WASTE COLLECTION SERVICE IN ZONE A BETWEEN THE CITY OF GLENDALE AND SOUTHLAND DISPOSAL COMPANY (CONTRACT R107070) ASSIGNING THE AGREEMENT TO SOUTHLAND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES INC.
WHEREAS, Section 8.56.170 of the Glendale Municipal Code, authorizes exclusive collection for solid waste collection services for business and multi-family properties through an exclusive franchise agreement authorizing and obligating the holder to provide collection services within a franchise zone. by resolution of the Council of the City of Glendale; and
WHEREAS, the franchise agreement provides that the consent to any assignment is in the sole discretion of the City Manager, as approved by Resolution adopted by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, on April 8, 2024, Southland Disposal Company submitted a written request to the City Manager for assignment of the franchise agreement from Southland Disposal Company to Southland Environmental Services, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the City Manager approves the request for assignment and recommends approval of the motion authorizing this change.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE, CALIFORNIA:
SECTION 1. Approves the assignment of the Agreement for Business And Multi- Family Solid Waste Collection Service In Zone A Between The City Of Glendale And Southland Disposal Company (Contract R107070) from Southland Disposal Company to Southland Environmental Services, Inc.
SECTION 2. The transfer fee of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00). shall be paid by Southland Disposal Company or Southland Environmental Services, Inc.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall have no force or effect unless and until a) the transfer fee in an amount equal to fifty thousand dollars, $50,000.000 is paid and received by the City of Glendale and Southland Environmental Services, Inc. 1 1
