MOTION
Moved by Council Member , seconded by
Council Member , that, with respect to the
October 8, 2024, report of the director of Community Services & Parks, the City Council of the City of Glendale hereby:
(1) Accepts Federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds from the State of California, Employment Development Department in the amount of $768,853 from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, to enable the Verdugo Workforce Development Board to distribute those funds to the Glendale Youth Alliance and the City of Burbank;
(2) Approves the award of WIOA grant funds to the Glendale Youth Alliance in the amount of $623,353 from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, and the City of Burbank in the amount of $145,500 from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, as approved and recommended by the Verdugo Workforce Development Board; and
(3) Authorizes the City Manager, or a designee, to execute all agreements, certifications, and documents necessary to accept and implement the funding.
