Dear City Council members,
For some time I have been concerned about turning safely onto Adams from Scofield. It is often very difficult to see beyond the cars that are parked on either side of Adams, and several times I have been stunned by an oncoming car that I did not see as I started to enter Adams. A stop sign would serve to slow speeds and make entry onto Adams much safer.
Thank you for considering our concerns.

Greetings City Council members and City Clerk,
I agree with the AHNA that speeding motorists on Adams Street are endangering the residents of Adams Hill. However, I don't think that the best solution is a stop sign that can be ignored by speeders.
I would prefer a speed hump, similar to what we have on Palmer in front of the park. There are more speed humps on Verdugo a mile away on the other side of the hill (in LA). On Verdugo, the humps are staggered between north and southbound lanes so that emergency vehicles can go around them.
I know the fire department opposes speed humps due to the impact on their response times.
However, this is a situation in which there are competing safety issues, and I would favor the preventative safety measure (speed hump) instead of the reactive safety measure (stop signs have shorter response times, but cause accidents themselves).
I think it should be the role of the City Council to resolve conflicts between departments and the public. We all know that speed humps are the most effective approach to controlling speeders. I ask that City Council tells the fire department that they lost this argument, and have a speed hump Notice of City Council Meeting to Address the

Join AHNA at the Nov 5th Council Meeting!
The installation of a all-way stop will discourage the massive amount of vehicles speeding up and down South Adams Street. The installation of crosswalks will also add much needed safety measures for pedestrians who use the adjacent Mini Park and businesses.
The City Council will be voting to pass one of three options:
* Motion setting the matter for a public hearing
* Motion ordering the Transportation and Parking Commission to rehear the matter
* Motion dismissing the appeal forthwith
The Adams Hill Neighborhood Association is advocating the implementation of this Traffic Calming Measure on South Adams Street.
We would like to encourage our membership and neighborhood residents to make the Mayor and City Council aware of your support.

Dear Mayor
Elen Asatryan and City Council Members,
I am writing to express my strong support for the proposed All Way Stop at South Adams Street and Scofield. As a resident of Adams Hill, I believe that implementing this measure will bring significant safety improvements to our community, benefiting both residents and visitors alike.
South Adams Street has long been a concern for many of us due to the high traffic volumes and the speeds at which vehicles often travel. This creates an unsafe environment for pedestrians, cyclists, and even other drivers. I believe that by introducing effective traffic calming solutions, the city can address these concerns, reduce speeding, and make the street safer for everyone, especially children and elderly residents who frequently use this area.
Furthermore, this measure aligns with Glendale’s commitment to creating a safer, more walkable, and more family-friendly community. Traffic calming measures have proven effective in other cities and neighborhoods, not only improving safety but also enhancing the quality of life for residents.
I appreciate the City Council’s consideration of this initiative and urge you to move forward with the implementation of this much-needed measure on South Adams Street. Thank you for your attention to this important issue and for your commitment to making Glendale a safer place for all.
Sincerely,
Dagmarette Yen

I am writing as a resident of Adams Hill and as a member of the Adams Hill Neighborhood Council urging the Glendale City Ciuncil to move forward with building the all-way proposed stop at Schofield Deive and Adams Street. The safety of our residents has been pushed aside for far too long and after various solutions have been tried over the past few years, action needs to be taken that is in the interest of our residents, especially the children who frequent Adams drive on their way to the mini park.
Our community has been asking for a solution to the speeding cars and drivers who ignore other safety measures that have been tried. I myself have called the Teanspirtation and Parking commission to advocate for speed bumps as a means of slowing drivers down but my requested nowhere.
Please do what is right for the residents and move this motion to a public hearing so you can hear for yourself how important the safety concerns on Adams Drive are.
Thank you for your time,
