BACKGROUND
2 Field and Mechanical Services Contract provides:
• Labor, material, and equipment as necessary to supplement GWP workforce • Specialized services for maintenance and repair of Grayson Power Plant Unit 9
Necessity:
• Limited GWP maintenance personnel
• Limited skills and knowledge to perform specialized work STATUS
3 Existing contract expired before critical Unit 9 work was completed.
Incomplete work includes:
• Replacement of gas turbine expansion joint.
• Replacement of pressure and vacuum relief valves for the ammonia tank. • Disassembly, bearing replacement, and balancing of two turbine enclosure fans.
Delay caused by operational need to have Unit 9 available for system peak
RECOMMENDATION
4 Term:
• Authorize a 9-month extension of the existing contract to complete outstanding work ahead of summer demand
Cost:
• No cost increase in the previously approved contract amount #MyGlendale
