RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE,
RATIFYING THE PROCLAMATION OF THE CITY OF GLENDALE'S
DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY SERVICES, PROCLAIMING
EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 3985 of the City of Glendale empowers the City Council, within seven (7) days of issuance, to ratify a proclamation by the Director of Emergency Services declaring a public calamity when the City Council is not in session; and WHEREAS, on January 8, 2025, the Director of Emergency Services proclaimed the existence of a local emergency therein; due to extreme wind event that has caused an intense fire in the neighboring Pasadena and Altadena areas; and
WHEREAS, said City Council does hereby find: That conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property having arisen within the City, at which time the City Council was not in session, were caused by the extreme wind event that began on January 7, 2025; and
WHEREAS, that the aforesaid conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property did warrant and necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a local emergency.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED
that the proclamation of a local emergency, as issued by the Director of Emergency Services, is hereby ratified and confirmed by the City Council of the City of Glendale.
