As a Planning Commission member in the City of Glendale since 2019, I have come to deeply understand and appreciate the vital role this body plays in shaping our community's future. The primary responsibility of the Planning Commission is to ensure that development aligns with the community's needs, preserving the character of our city while promoting responsible growth and sustainable planning practices. The Commission serves as a bridge between the city, developers, and residents, facilitating a transparent and balanced approach to land use and urban development.

I view our role as central to fostering a built environment that reflects Glendale's values, focusing on issues such as housing affordability, traffic congestion, preservation of neighborhood integrity, and environmental sustainability. One key challenge we face is balancing the need for growth with the preservation of Glendale? s unique character and livability. Addressing the housing crisis, supporting sustainable infrastructure, and ensuring community engagement in planning decisions are critical areas that I see as ongoing priorities.

If reappointed, my goal is to continue advocating for thoughtful planning that supports both economic growth and quality of life for all residents. I am particularly interested in exploring initiatives that promote mixed-use developments, enhance public transportation options, and incorporate green building practices to create a resilient and inclusive city. My experience over the past five years has strengthened my commitment to these priwardes, and am eager ko continue warking towards a future where Blendale remains vibrant, diverse, and NOTE: THIS FORM BECOMES PUBLIC INFORMATION. The Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Commissioner plays a vital role in shaping public spaces and programs that enhance the well-being of residents. This position is responsible for ensuring that parks and recreational services are accessible, engaging, and reflective of the diverse needs of the community. By prioritizing inclusive community engagement programs through activities and events, we can create spaces that foster strong communities and promote both mental and physical wellness.

A key issue facing parks and recreation is the need to make public spaces more dynamic and inclusive, ensuring they are not just functional but truly inspiring and FUN. Parks should be more than green spaces-they should be the coolest spots in the city, where residents of all ages and backgrounds can come together, feel a sense of belonging, engage in meaningful activities, and create beautiful memories.

If appointed, my goal would be to develop exciting and joyful programming that transforms public spaces into vibrant hubs for creativity, wellness, and connection. By integrating art, fitness, cultural events, and interactive experiences, we can position our city as a leader in reimacinina nuhlie snaces as nlaces that foster inv. ennanement. and communitv nride.
