Moved by Council Member _______________________, seconded by Council Member _______________________, that the City Council hereby directs staff to prepare and return to introduce a reach code ordinance for existing single-family buildings that would require installation of a heat pump as the primary heating source, or other energy conservation improvements, in cases where an existing air conditioning system is altered or replaced, or where an air conditioning system is added.
