M O T I O N
Moved by Council Member _______________________, seconded by Council Member _______________________, that the City Council hereby approves the City’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP) to:
Serve as the community’s framework for improving health and environment for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and increasing resilience in the face of climate change which will focus on pragmatic, measurable, and time-bound strategies, innovative solutions that are financially viable; and
Establish policies, measures and actions to reduce GHG emissions and enhance community resilience to climate change and guides sustainable development in response to climate change; and
Provide a framework pursuant to which future projects may utilize the CAAP to determine whether the project is consistent with CAAP goals and policies and thereafter adopt mitigation strategies identified in the CAAP to address any potential significant impacts and confirm compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act.
