RECOMMENDATION
That the Council appoint a voting delegate and alternate representative(s) for the 2025 League of California Cities (Cal Cities) Annual Conference – General Assembly.

ANALYSIS
The League of California Cities is an association that advocates for the interests of California's cities, promoting local control and providing a unified voice for municipalities on issues affecting governance, legislation, and public policy. The City Council must designate a voting delegate by council action for the Annual Conference General Assembly, where the delegate will represent Glendale in shaping Cal Cities policies. Each city has one voting delegate who at the General Assembly, will play a direct role in advocating for local decision-making and influencing statewide policy.

While there are no general resolutions scheduled to be voted on at the October 2025 General Assembly at this time, petition resolutions may be introduced during the conference, and General Assembly may convene if a qualified resolution is introduced.

This year’s event will take place on October 8 to 10, 2025 in Long Beach, CA. Upon the appointment of the City’s delegates for 2025, staff will complete the necessary documents timely and before the September 24, 2025 deadline to officially register the City’s voting delegates for the 2025 Annual Conference and General Assembly.
