RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council approve motion authorizing the City Manager to increase the total amount of the construction contract with Bedrock for the Pacific Park/Edison Elementary School Artificial Turf Replacement Project, by $60,000, plus a 10% contingency of $6,000.

ANALYSIS
The Pacific Park/Edison Elementary School Artificial Turf Replacement Project commenced on December 8,2025 and is scheduled to be completed by end of February.

As indicated in October 7, 2025, staff report, the artificial turf multi-purpose field occupies roughly one-acre and is located on the Thomas Edison Elementary School/GUSD property. The city and GUSD jointly use the artificial turf multi-purpose field with the city having use of the field daily during non-school hours, weekends, and GUSD breaks.

The City Council approved a construction contract with Bedrock for $1,117,900 plus a 10% contingency. This contract requires an amendment because of a typographical error in both the staff report and the Council motion that incorrectly listed the bid amount as $1,117,900, whereas the correct bid amount submitted by the contractor is $1,177,900.

STAKEHOLDERS/OUTREACH
None.

FISCAL IMPACT
The correction to the contract with Bedrock for the Pacific Park/Edison Elementary School Artificial Turf Replacement Project will cost $60,000, plus a 10% contingency of $6,000, which was included as a part of the FY 2025-26 adopted budget. No new appropriation is being requested currently. The City Council approved funding is outlined below:
