COUNCIL ACTION
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Glendale Municipal Election was held on June 2nd, 2026, administered by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk. This election marked the fifth time in which the Los Angeles County transitioned from polling places to Vote Centers, which allowed voters to cast a ballot at any Vote Center location in the County over an 11-day period.
The Glendale Community College District removed Trustee Area 4 of the Board of Trustees from the Election because the incumbent was unopposed and was seated as a Member of the Board of Trustees for Trustee Areas 4, a copy of the verification is attached to the resolution as “Exhibit 1.”
Thirteen Vote Centers were located in the Glendale area (including La Crescenta) for the election; two Vote Centers were open for eleven days, beginning on Saturday, May 23, 2026, and the remaining eleven Vote Centers were open for four days, beginning on Saturday May 30, 2026. Of these thirteen locations, the City of Glendale provided the County with three of its facilities to serve as Vote Centers. There was an additional eight Vote-by-Mail Drop-Off Boxes, available 24-hours a day 30 days before election day.
Vote Centers were open from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm for the eleven days leading up to Election Day, and from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm on Election Day. Each Vote Center provided voters with new, fully accessible Ballot Marking Devices. Ballot Marking Devices are not internet-based. They consist of a paper-based modern tally system that counts votes from a paper ballot using image processing technology. These devices are accessible and translated into twelve languages.

At the end of each day during the 11-day voting period, ballots were securely delivered to the County, then routed to the Downey Tally Center in the City of Downey. There, ballots were processed in a location that was open for public observation. Vote-By-Mail ballots that were returned to the County were processed in a separate location that was also available for public observation. Logic and accuracy tests were run immediately before and after the ballot tally to ensure that the program counting the ballots functioned 5a

Once the final set of ballots was received on the evening of June 2, 2026, the County processed as many ballots as possible through Friday, June 26, 2026. Throughout this period, post-election canvassing operations were conducted daily, including weekends and holidays.
Different operations maintained different schedules, with some teams working night shifts into the early morning hours. Many ballot-processing operations were conducted between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Final ballot counting and vote tabulation concluded on Friday, June 26, 2026.
Following the completion of all required post-election procedures, the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk certified that the election had concluded.
