I am seeking appointment to the Commission on the Status of Women because I believe meaningful progress for women requires both advocacy and practical action. The Commission should play a vital role in identifying barriers facing women and girls in the City of Glendale, advising policymakers, and promoting initiatives that expand opportunity, safety, and economic emplowerment throughout the community.

Key issues facing women today include economic advancement, equal access to leadership opportunities, childcare and family support, gender-based violence, and access to education and professional development. As a women, immigrant, attorney and small business owner, I have seen firsthand the importnace of mentorship, representation, and access to opportunities that allow women to succeed and lead.

If appointed, my goals would be to contribute my legal and leadership experience to the Commission's work.

I believe the Commission should: (1) strengthen community engagement by working with partner rganizations to determine the needs; (2) support initiatives that advance economic and professiona pportunities for women; and (3) help ensure that women's issues are represented in policy discussions he City Council level. I would also work with the city to ensure that resources are readily accessible onlin ind at events organized by partnership organizations. The Commission must be needing the needs of thi community and that starts with working with partner organizations to identify what is lacking, and thereafter, taking proactive steps to address them.
