SIDE LETTER OF AGREEMENT
BETWEEN
CITY OF GLENDALE
AND
THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS. LOCAL 18 This Side Letter of Agreement (“Agreement”) between the City of Glendale (“City”) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 18 (“IBEW”) (collectively “Parties”) is entered into with respect to the following:
WHEREAS, the Parties are parties to an MOU with a term of August 1, 2023 – July 31, 2027; and
WHEREAS, the Parties now desire to modify their MOU regarding the provision of pay for Fiber Optic Cable Splicing; and
WHEREAS, the following sets forth the Parties’ Agreement:
1. The City agrees to provide a five percent (5%) salary increase to employees in the classifications listed below and the job descriptions for each classification will be amended to include as a required job duty “installation of splicing and maintenance of city-owned fiber optic cable. All employees will receive a formalized training program on the splicing and maintenance of City-owned fiber optic cable.
Electrical Test Technician I
Electrical Test Technician II
Senior Electrical Test Technician
Station Electric/Operator Apprentice
Station Electric/Operator
Station Electric/Operator Supervisor I
Electrical Mechanical Assistant
Electrical Mechanic Supervisor I
2. The parties agree that Article Two, Section XIII, Assignment Pay – Fiber Optic Cable Splicing, of their MOU will be deleted.
XIII. ASSIGNMENT PAY – FIBER OPTIC CABLE SPLICING
Unit employees in the classifications of Electrical Test Assistant, Electrical Test Technician I, Electrical Test Technician II, Sr. Electrical Test Technician, Station Electrician/Operator Apprentice, Station Electrician/Operator, Station Electrician/Operator Supervisor I shall receive assignment pay of one and three quarters percent (1.75%) above their current base salary following the completion of a formalized training program on the splicing and maintenance of City-owned fiber optic cable.
The assignment pay as set forth above shall be paid for all regular work hours and hours of overtime worked.
