LEGISLATIVE HISTORY / PREVIOUS ACTIONS
In May 2018, the City Council extended terms of office of members of the various City Boards and Commissions, so that a review of City’s municipal code and policies/procedures associated with various City Boards and Commissions could be conducted. In December 2018, the City Council adopted Ordinance 2036 that updated and consolidated various municipal code sections and brought uniformity to the policies and procedures governing the City’s five Boards/Commissions and the recruitment process to be utilized to fill vacancies.
At the April 26, 2022 City Council meeting, an update on recruitment efforts was presented, which highlighted the number of applications received by the April 14, 2022 deadline, and incumbents requesting re-appointment. The Council Members discussed the state of the recruitment and unanimously approved to waive the interview process and re-appoint the two incumbents, Brianna Chew 1st term (Office 4), and Tomoko Toland 1st term (Office 5) and to schedule interviews to fill the remaining vacant seat (Office 1) at a special meeting to be held on May 10, 2022.
