UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Consideration of a Resolution providing for the Appointment of Unopposed Candidates to Members of the City Council representing Districts 2 and 5 and canceling the associated portions of the Tuesday, November 5, 2024, City of Glendora City Council General Municipal Election (Submission Deadline August 22, 2024)
There was no one wishing to provide public comment.
A motion was made by Council Member Allawos, seconded by Council Member Davis, that the City Council 1. Approve Option 1 per Election Code 102209 to appoint to the office(s) the person(s) who have been nominated for District 2, David Fredendall and District 5, Mendell L. Thompson; 2. Accept the City Clerk’s Certification that there are no more candidates than offices to be filled; and 3. Adopt City Council Resolution CC 2024-39 entitled, “A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF THE OFFICE(S) OF MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT 2 AND DISTRICT 5 THAT WERE TO BE ELECTED ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2024 AND CANCELLATION OF ASSOCIATED PORTIONS OF THE CITY GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION.” An oral roll call vote was conducted, and the motion carried 5 - 0 as follows: AYES Allawos, Boyer, Davis, Fredendall, Thompson; NOES None; ABSENT None; ABSTAIN None.
